What is Volunteering North West?
Volunteering North West (VNW) has been in operation for over 20 years and has an extensive regional membership of Volunteering Infrastructure organisations.
VNW aims to support the development of Volunteering in the North West.
VNW is dedicated to:
- Sharing and developing information, skills and knowledge.
- Promoting and developing best practice through education and training.
- Campaigning on appropriate and relevant issues.
VNW aims to ensure that there is a modern, dynamic, strategic, co-ordinated and sustainable
infrastructure for Volunteering throughout the region. VNW is determined to ensure that there is a comprehensive,
quality-accredited, recognisable and influential network of Volunteering Infrastructure organisations in the region.
VNW believes that all Volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations should have access to high-quality and accessible
volunteering advice and support services.
VNW aim to ensure that the ChangeUp High level outcome is
met in the North West by 2014:
There is a leaner, effectively marketed and high quality volunteering

diversity of individuals coupled with improved volunteer management.
Volunteering North West aims to strengthen and develop the regional volunteering infrastructure network by:
- Promoting understanding of the distinctive nature of volunteering infrastructure and the need for investment.

- Supporting North West volunteer-involving organisations from the voluntary, community and public sectors with an interest in volunteering.
- Enabling the North West private sector to develop and sustain volunteering initiatives such as employer supported volunteering.
- Identifying major gaps in volunteering infrastructure provision in the North West and working creatively to address them.
- Campaigning and influencing the policy and practice of regional stakeholders and providers.
- Understanding and conveying to others, the wider benefits of volunteering in the region.
- Co-operating with the England Volunteering Development Council North West to ensure that regional infrastructure has a voice at local, sub-regional and regional level.
