Volunteering Hub

Volunteering Hub
Volunteering England is the accountable body for the activity of the Volunteering Hub. This is part of ChangeUp, the capacity building framework for the voluntary and community sector, published by the Active Communities Unit in June 2004. The key aims of the hub are to:
- Support the sharing of good practice on volunteering
- Enhance the quality of volunteer management
- Improve the quality and coverage of volunteering infrastructure
- Complete the implementation of a common brand for volunteering infrastructure

Volunteering Merseyside

Volunteering Merseyside
Volunteering Merseyside is the name of the consortium of 10 Greater Merseyside Volunteer Centres. Volunteering Merseyside offers co-ordinated support services to both volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations.

do-it hosts the National Volunteering Database, with opportunities supplied by local Volunteer Centres and a variety of other organisations. Over 63,000 current volunteer opportunities can be searched by entering details such as postcode, availability and interests.

Millennium Volunteers
Millennium Volunteers (MV) encourages 16-24 year olds to volunteer their time by doing something they enjoy to help others. It is a government-supported initiative with 130 MV Projects established around England. The MV Website enables visitors to search for local MV providers.

Student Volunteering England
Student Volunteering England wants every student to have the opportunity volunteer. They provide an information service, which includes publications, toolkits, news updates and personal support. The website list details of local Student Volunteering groups.

TimeBank
Timebank is a national campaign that aims to make it easier for people to give time to the community. The website asks visitors to become TimeGivers and aims to match skills, interests and availability with a range of opportunities.

Time Banks
Time Banks is a network that offers members the opportunity to exchange skills and services. The website enables members to receive a one-hour credit in the Time Bank for every hour they donate as a volunteer.

WorldWide Volunteering
The WWV database enables volunteers to build an on-screen profile of their ideal volunteer placement, which is instantly matched against the requirements of nearly 1000 organisations in over 200 countries.

Employer Supported Volunteering

Employer Supported Volunteering is the term used to describe all forms of volunteering carried out by employees which is supported by their employer. This can take the form of employers supporting existing volunteering by employees, whether during or out of work hours; and also formal, structured employer supported volunteering programmes.

National ChangeUp Hubs

Hubs are partnerships of voluntary and community organisations who have come together to improve the support available to the voluntary and community sector. There are six Hubs established under ChangeUp for key areas of VCS expertise: Finance; Governance; ICT; Performance; Volunteering; Workforce
