Volunteering North West meetings are held regularly in Preston. The meetings are attended by VNW members and offer an excellent opportunity to network, share ideas and discuss issues relevant to the support and development of volunteering in the region.

North West ChangeUp Volunteering Representatives Group

Volunteering representatives from each of the ChangeUp sub-regions (Greater Manchester (Volunteer Centre Tameside), Merseyside (Volunteer Centre Sefton), Cheshire (Volunteer Centre Warrington), Lancashire (Hyndburn & Ribble Valley Volunteer Centres), Cumbria (Volunteer Centre Eden) meet on a quarterly basis in Preston. All representatives are members of VNW. The group is supported by Sally Rimmer, VE’s Regional Development Officer and aims to ensure that the sub-regional ChangeUp volunteering infrastructure work is co-ordinated to maximise shared-learning throughout the North West region and minimise duplication wherever possible.

England Volunteering Development Council

The EVDC is a high-level representative mechanism for volunteering, engaging both with government and opposition parties in order to capture the collective intelligence of volunteer-involving organisations, volunteering infrastructure providers and of volunteers to provide a powerful, co-ordinated lobby to steer government policy and community action.

England Volunteering Development Council North West

The first regional England Volunteering Development Council (EVDC) took place in the North West on 1 March 2006. It was attended by representatives of a wide range of North West volunteer infrastructure and volunteer-involving organisations. VNW members and representatives of four of the five North West sub-regions (Greater Manchester, Merseyside (Volunteer Centre Liverpool), Cheshire (Volunteer Centre Warrington), Lancashire (Hyndburn & Ribble Valley Volunteer Centres), Cumbria (Volunteer Centre Eden) will attend all future EVDC-NW meetings.
