Mission
Statement: Hyndburn and Ribble Valley CVS is an independent voluntary
organisation that supports local voluntary and community groups in the area by
providing information and advice services as well as practical
support.

Volunteering Services Offered
Volunteer Brokerage
Details: We work to match up volunteers
with the vacancies we have available and we also work to identify new vacancies
to match someone’s specific volunteering need or to generally increase
opportunities available.
Training
Details: The Volunteer Centre in Hyndburn runs an
ongoing Life Skills Awareness Course and a Pre Volunteering course especially
for people with support needs. Both volunteer centres organisation training that
organisations have identified as being needed i.e. Child Protection, Awareness
training around substance abusers, ex-offenders etc.

Bulletins/Newsletters
Details: CVS has a quarterly
newsletter that the volunteer centre contributes to and the Volunteer Centre as
it’s own quarterly newsletter.

Details: We have several of
these in our library just contact us for a list.

Details: We have a
bi-monthly meeting for Volunteer Co-ordinators
Volunteer Certificates
Details: We offer a volunteer hours
certificate scheme, which we have several organisations that take part in this.
Publications Library
Details: We have quite a large
selection of best practice publications and guides available to both
organisations and volunteers.
Extra Support Needs Volunteering
Details: We have a full
time support needs volunteering worker that covers the Hyndburn area Working on
a one to one basis with people with support needs into volunteering attending
interviews and going with them on the first day of placement should they wish.
Conferences/Promotional Events
Details: We hold several
volunteer promotional events a year including our annual volunteer fair which we
hold during volunteers week.
